Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps people change their negative thoughts and feelings to improve how they act and feel. It teaches people that the way they think about things can affect how they feel and what they do. For example, if someone thinks, "I'm not good at anything," CBT helps them see things more positively, like, "I can get better at things with practice." By learning to challenge and change these unhelpful thoughts, people can feel better and make smarter choices in their daily lives

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that helps people learn how to handle strong emotions and improve their relationships with others. It teaches people skills to stay calm during tough times, understand their feelings better, and make healthier choices. DBT helps people find a balance between accepting things as they are and trying to change things for the better. It focuses on four main skills: mindfulness (being aware of the present moment), distress tolerance (getting through difficult situations without making them worse), emotion regulation (managing strong feelings), and interpersonal effectiveness (getting along with others in a positive way).

Mindfulness: Non-judgmental awareness of the present moment, including thoughts and emotions. Change: Emotion regulation, reducing vulnerability to emotions. Distress Tolerance: Learning to tolerate emotions in a crisis without making things worse. Interpersonal Effectiveness: Improving and maintaining relationships and self-respect.

LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Care

LGBTQIA+ mental health care treatment is a type of therapy that supports people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or other identities. It helps these individuals deal with challenges like feeling different, facing discrimination, or struggling with their emotions because of who they are. The goal of this treatment is to provide a safe and accepting space where people can talk about their feelings, work through any difficulties, and build confidence in themselves. Therapists help them understand and express their identity, cope with stress, and develop healthy relationships. The treatment focuses on kindness, respect, and supporting people as they live their true selves

Coordination of Care

Coordination of mental health care is when different doctors, therapists, other health professionals, and other supports work together to help someone get the best treatment for their mental health. Instead of working alone, these professionals share information about the person’s needs and progress to make sure they’re all on the same page. For example, if someone is seeing a therapist for their feelings and a doctor for their physical health, they can work together to make sure all of the person's needs are being met. This helps the person get the right care in the best way, so they can feel better faster and be more healthy overall.

The three points of the triangle are labeled "Therapist" at the top, "Other Supports" on the left, and "Health Professionals" on the right. Arrows indicate communication between the person and each support, with different colors for each connection.
